| Barry Ryan, P.Geo, PhD Position: Technical Advisor, Coal Mr. Ryan is a Professional Geologist with over 35 years of geological experience at the academic, industry, and governmental levels. Mr. Ryan served as the coal and coalbed methane ('CMB") specialist for BC's Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Petroleum Resources from 1989 to 2008 during which time he published numerous coal and CBM studies providing a resource of information on coal and CBM for the province of British Columbia. Prior to his role with government, Mr. Ryan spent 8 years with Crowsnest Resources Ltd., a subsidiary of Shell Canada, where he held various positions including Manager Geology and was responsible for coal exploration in British Columbia and Alberta. Prior to his position with Crowsnest, Mr. Ryan worked at the University of British Columbia from 1976 to 1981 as a Research Associate and Assistant Lecturer. Mr. Ryan holds a Doctorate (Structural Geology and Isotope Studies) from the University of British Columbia and a Post Doctoral Fellowship (Isotope Studies) from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. | |
